Please, bear in mind the following recommendations upon entering Colombia:

Airport tax for foreigners

An airport tax is a value charged to passengers to use airport installations. It currently costs US$ 35 (COP $ 61,000), and it changes every year. It is obligatory for a passenger to pay regular and non-regular commercial air-fare.

For international passengers, airport taxes are fixed according the representative market exchange rate (In Spanish, TRM).

Luggage:

Upon entering Colombia, passengers may bring in two types of luggage: accompanied luggage and unaccompanied luggage

Accompanied luggage

This is luggage that enters the country with passengers upon entering the country. It may be the passenger’s personal effects and/or permitted items.

Unaccompanied luggage

This is luggage which enters the country before or after a traveler's arrival and which must be consigned in the traveler's name. If part of the luggage has already entered or is going to enter via cargo, it must be declared on the luggage and cash declaration form (In Spanish, Formulario de Declaración de Equipaje y Dinero), and inform the customs officer before leaving the customs area. Otherwise, the shipment will go through ordinary nationalization procedures. Travelers must pay a 15% tax for luggage that enters 30 days before or 90 days after their arrival.

Entry of cash and merchandise

In addition to a Traveler’s personal effects, each traveler has the right to bring to Colombia cash and tax-free merchandise and merchandise paying taxes, see the following conditions:

In accordance with the law, travelers must declare the cash on the luggage and cash declaration form (In Spanish, Formulario de Declaración de Equipaje y Dinero) when they bring into Colombia a sum of US$ 10.000 cash or its equivalent in other currencies, including legal Colombian currency.

Travelers can bring cash into the country as long as it does not exceed the amount established in the law:
